I really liked this series of videos. When I was a kid I attended private Christian schools from 4th to the first half of 11th grade. The history books we had included verses to help build up and backup the absurd claims as to what TRUE history is. I remember learning all kinds of screwy shit. One of my favorites is when I was taught that the bubonic plague that ravaged Europe and wiped out about a third of the population was actually part of God's plan to eventually go to the Americas to establish the United States and bring Jesus to the natives. I know. Seriously stupid.

 Christians really need to get a grip and stop being so goddamn afraid of education. This is just another stupid attempt of Christians to try to validate their claims against science. And when you inform them about various issues that are contrary to their own beliefs they immediately claim that what science is doing is injecting the supposed truth of God with a bunch of lies.

Lines of Distinction and Lines of Separation

When you think of the terms 'distinction' and 'separation' do you consider them the same, or each their own definition? Humans spend much of their time drawing lines in the proverbial and literal sands of their daily existence, believing that lines of distinction and lines of separation are the same. This is not so.

Lines of distinction are natural, occurring wherever they may, paying no mind whatsoever to the desires of any being...intelligent or otherwise.

Lines of separation are unnatural, occurring wherever an intelligent mind chooses to place them, whether or not the actual choice or action of placing such is a good or bad idea. Consider that when I use the term 'intelligent' I mean that a being is aware of the action of creating the line of separation; a conscious being...human or some other higher intelligence.

Lines of distinction are not prejudiced.

Lines of separation are entirely prejudiced.

Sometimes humans have an errant tendency to mix the definitions of these two terms, and should be ashamed at the crap situations they have created by doing so. It is very important for humans to understand what they have done to themselves by confusing the definitions of separation and distinction. Humans have torn themselves to pieces (sometimes literally) by fudging these two terms. 

Lines of separation are terrible and largely destructive. What religion a person is a part of (or even if someone even believes in religion at all) is a big one. Some would deny this and say it is a distinction in spiritual salvation. This is a lie. How much money a person has is another line of separation. How about where a person is from, what they dress like, how much property they own, what their social status is, what their political affiliation is, what their sexual preference is, what their credit score is, what their military rank is, or what kind of job they have? These are all lines of separation because they are all divisive on some level.

Lines of distinction are not divisive because by nature they do not divide. Lines of distinction stand-out, enhance characteristics, and contribute to the individuality of someone or something or a group of the same. Courage,compassion, trustworthiness, endurance, fortitude, and diligence (as well as their opposites) are all lines of distinction.

Look at what you are doing in your life, how you treat yourself and others, and how you perceive places and circumstances. Are you confusing lines of separation and lines of distinction? Maybe you are. Maybe you are not. Maybe you are not sure. 

Just remember this:

The lines on a zebra are lines of distinction.

The lines of people in death camps, in unemployment lines, in prisons, in bread lines, in religious squabbles, and in political camps are great examples of lines of separation...because man has put them there with prejudice and the express intent to divide.

Divine Pish-Posh Part I: The Creation Myth

The Christian Holy Bible's story of Creation is probably one of the most well known of such stories. In only six days the universe and everything in it is created by God. Reference these Holy Bible verses so that you may read this for yourself: Genesis 1:1-31; 2:1-3. Psalms 8:3; 33:6-7, 9. There are many, many verses that directly concern Creation, but listing all of them is counter-productive. If you wish to find more Creation verses simply Google it.

Creation myths all lack the very same things: a scientific approach, a common sense approach, a real and true search for cause and effect.

Creation myths also all share some very interesting qualities: zero proof of said story, absurd claims, impossible or improbable sequences of events.

Why have so many cultures nurtured such myths? Perhaps some of the reasons for this is to maintain certain aspects of heritage and culture, to learn about the consequences of good and evil deeds by stories of gods and heroes and villains, to establish some type of spiritual foundation and respect, to help explain all facets of existence (to include all things supernatural) that humans do not understand, and even to serve as a unifying and longevity factor for some cultures.

And of course there is the entertainment factor. What better way to spread the favorite stories of one's culture with individuals of neighboring cultures and nations than to weave colorful, amazing, and captivating stories that each hold fast to specific beliefs held dear by the storytellers? I encourage you to go and research the creation myths of as many different cultures as possible. You will find an amazing array of fantastic acts of heroism, numerous stories of selfish and self-less gods alike, stories of slavery and freedom, of life and death and rebirth.

Many biblical historians date the written creation of the Pentateuch by Moses to be around 1400 B.C.E. to 1280 B.C.E. Creation myths with Enuma Elis, or with Marduk over Tiamat have been suggested to date around 1800 B.C.E. to 1100 B.C.E. Some Sumerian myths have been dated to be around 2150 B.C.E. Egyptian myths from the 5th and 6th dynasties date to around 2375 B.C.E. to 2184 B.C.E.

People can squabble over whose myth is the oldest and therefore the most viable. Yet, perhaps the specific approach of trying to pinpoint the oldest of such writings (in order to establish ONE specific myth as THE truth) is contrary to the purpose of the creation of the myths in the first place.

I think that maybe the myths just share different viewpoints and associations and perceptions of what is thought to be man's progression through existence, to include all things supernatural. And maybe myth is also about remembering what and who man has been in order that he better understand how far he has come and who he is now.

And who he may be in the future.

These myths are not intended to be taken as truth. This is what atheists, at least some of them, are trying to say. This is precisely what some atheists are trying to prove as they go point by point over the ridiculousness of Christianity, trying to show the severe inconsistencies and the sheer lunacy of accepting mythology as ultimate truth. It is about opening the eyes of the deluded. These stories are not meant to be taken literally, to be used as tools of separation, to be used as tools of subjugation, or to be used as tools of fear. They are ALL PRETEND.

This is why I write what I write. Remove the blindfold, all ye immersed in swallowing what Christianity crams into your mouth. Remove the blindfold.
