If God is Who many of the cynically delusional in religion claim Him to be, then God has LOTS of ideas as to how to mistreat gays, right?

According to some of those who would assert that the Holy Bible is absolutely true God is responsible for everything that happens. Everything. Blessings, punishments...EVERYTHING. Nothing happens without God's say so since everything is a part of His fantabulous plan, which of course was formed and approved by God's planning committee consisting of He, Him, and Himself. ANY and ALL punishment for all things 'sinful' are by God's supposed divine Will. It all boils down to this: If someone is punished for their sins...well, that is simply how it is going to be. It doesn't matter how it was done or who it was by, or whether or not it was something terrible and crappy and totally fucked up since God purposely allowed it to happen in order to punish them for their wicked ways. I see.

Sooo...I was thinking that the clips from the first part of this particular discussion were bad enough, right? Well, apparently God has lots of ideas as to how to mistreat gays. Notice that God does not say specifically to do this or that, but He sure as fuck does not stop any of His folks or ANYONE for that matter (or Himself) from some of the terrible things done to gays whilst in fits of intense homophobic passions, does He? And, yes, it must be noted that all Christians are not homophobic and do not all hurt gays, and likewise not all homophobic people are Christian and not all homophobic people hurt gays in some form or other. Just gotta put that out there to be fair.


This man was murdered because he was gay. There are people who celebrated his death as judgment by God for being gay. Sickening. This human being was murdered because of his sexual preference. How is this punishment more important to God than killing those who kill other people, or who rape other people, or who commit adultery and other crimes? I thought it says in the Bible that all fall short of the glory of God? If that is the case...

Divine sanctions for mistreatment of homosexuals?

Sooo...if being gay is a bad thing how does God want people to behave in regards to punishing what is supposed to be a very bad thing? Does God tell people what the punishment is supposed to be or does He let them choose how to punish gays so long as it is something that falls under the confines of the definition of 'punishment' or something similar? For Love's Sake THINK About What You Are Saying

Sometimes, even the people of the world whom many others consider the brightest and most solution-seeking individuals can say or promote some of the most stupid, sense-deprived theories and arguments.

Earlier yesterday morning I was at the house of an elderly, very religious friend of mine helping her to clean. In the course of cleaning I could hear her on the phone for a prayer session. She was asking for God to show His mighty and just wrath on those who are gay or lesbian and those who oppose legislation granting such individuals equal rights and equal protection. She was also very specific in praying that God pour out His wrath on those individuals who are against anti-gay laws in Uganda that evidently call for the execution of homosexuals.

What the hell is wrong with people? There is nothing even remotely good and wholesome in praying for such a terrible thing. I have known this woman for more than three decades and she truly is one of the smartest people I have ever come across and I found it disturbing that someone of such a high level of intellect would utter something so insanely stupid.

What Might Some of These Lies Be?

Part I

     There is so much more to religion and how it formed and who and what contributed to that formation. I would like to cover some of the inadequacies and misleadings of what is presented in religion as we know it, but before I do that I wanted to post this series of video documentaries on religion that I found on Youtube.

     The man who put these next ten videos together makes some very good points. I think a lot of what he says has merit. I do not agree with everything he says, but I do think the points he raises are in fact valid and based on sound research. Of course there will be scholars that disagree as well. This is okay.
     Part of studying and learning about ourselves is to learn as much as possible even when we do not want to and when we may think there is no possibility of there being another answer other than the ones people popularly cling to. Do not write off what he says too quickly but rather try to be open to the possibility of yet another explanation. Something I find to be of particular interest is the assertion made by our host of these videos that the crucifixion never happened. And I really mean that, it is interesting.

     Sacred sex and the ideas that there was/is/are great power to be found within the energy of reproduction and pleasure and the purposes/uses of such are very interesting. It is a lot more to study though and you really gotta be careful of how you type it into the Youtube search or you get some really, really bad stuff that pops up on your computer screen. So, I would recommend that if you wish to learn more about this particular subject you go to a bookstore like Borders or BarnesnNoble where you can find the info you are looking for without accidentally downloading programs detrimental to your computer.

     The possibilities of the origins of many facets of religion, Abrahamic religions in particular, is something that far more people ought to look into with greater patience and care. It does not mean that you have to change everything that you believe, but to at least be aware of and open to ALL the information out there, and not just the information that you want to hear simply because it backs up what you believe really is an important thing to do.

     I can only imagine how many hard-line Christians would rather see the world come to an end than hear what this man has to say about the formation of religion into what we all know it to be today. I hope at least some Christians have the patience and foresight to watch these videos. Like I said before, they do not have to change what they believe, but it would be great if these films can at least help a little bit in getting the stubborn minds of Christianity in realizing there are so very many ways to think and live and believe and contribute to mankind...and just because a person does not choose Christianity does not make that person bad or terrible. Christians really need to move away from such aberrant thinking.

There are many individuals and groups who wholeheartedly believe in everything the Bible and Christianity have to say. Is this a problem? Not in and of its own. The problems start arising when these same individuals and groups try to pass off their belief as truth and demand that other people either acknowledge the God of Christianity and the Holy Bible as truth, or burn in hell forever.

Isn't that nice? Believe this way or die. I would like to hear some Christians explain this absurdity away and actually make sense. They say their belief is faith. Faith is believing in something or someone or an idea without evidence or proof. Faith is taking something at face value, making a choice of taking something at face value. There is no arm-twisting or coercion involved on any level. As several Christians have told me, "We believe it to be true in our hearts. We believe because we know it is the right thing and the truth."

Really? Press a Christian a little harder for deeper answers and they will tell you that they believe what they believe in because they don't want to go to hell and experience horrific terrors at the hands of Satan. In the end analysis, Christianity is not about having faith in God and everything that the Holy Bible says. It is about saving one's ass from a supposed horrible fate. Believing in something to save yourself is not faith. It is coercion by means of instilling fear, by insinuating that if what the Holy Bible has to say is not believed, if the Christian God is not believed then definite terrors and horrors will take place upon those who do not believe.

There are many wonderful things to believe in. There are many terrible things to believe in. However, those who believe in anything must realize that belief is not equal with, not synonymous with truth. In order for something to be actual truth there must exist within it FACT. There is zero fact in belief. That is part of why it is called belief. It cannot be proven with fact, with substance. And the moment something is proven, the moment a fact is presented about something it is no longer belief and moves into the realm of Truth and Fact.

When it comes to truth and everything that truth encompasses it does not matter whether or not an individual or group of individuals choose to acknowledge such truth. Truth does not need any acknowledgement of any being (reasoning or otherwise) in order to exist. Truth exists regardless of what an individual or group believes or practices or wants or aims for.

Not all that long ago many people believed that the earth was flat, was the center of the universe, and that the sun revolved around the earth. However, the belief in such things did not change the fact or change the truth one iota, did not change the fact that the earth is a sphere, is not the center of the universe, and revolves around the sun and not the other way around.

Belief can never be truth because belief in its very essence and every expression contains zero fact. Conversely, the truth MUST consist of fact. Therefore, belief is devoid of truth for it does not possess the consistency and substance of fact. And there are no half-truths. Something either is or is not the truth. Belief is the mental action of supposition and should never be confused with the physical action of fact. Fact is truth for no matter what is believed, it simply is. Truth does not need believers in order to exist.
